Terms & Conditions of Sale and Use

These Terms & Conditions govern bookings and use of the services offered by THE FRENCH COOKING EXPERIENCE (“The French Cooking Experience”), a French SARL registered with the RCS of Versailles under number 993 818 970. They apply to consumer bookings made through this website or confirmed directly by The French Cooking Experience. Corporate and team-building bookings may also be subject to the specific quotation or proposal accepted by the client; where those specific terms differ, the accepted quotation or proposal prevails.

1. Services

The French Cooking Experience provides hands-on culinary experiences in Versailles, including French cooking classes, market-based experiences, macaron workshops, family experiences, private experiences, birthday parties and team-building activities. The description, duration, price, capacity, language, meeting point and inclusions shown for the selected experience form part of the information provided before booking.

Menus, ingredients and minor programme details may change where reasonably necessary because of seasonality, ingredient availability, safety, market opening conditions or circumstances outside The French Cooking Experience’s control. Any material change affecting the essential nature of the booked experience will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.

2. Booking and contract formation

For shared and family experiences, a booking becomes binding when the customer completes the booking information, accepts the applicable terms and receives confirmation following successful payment through the secure Wix checkout environment.

Private experiences, birthday parties and team-building activities may operate on a request-first basis. Submitting a date request does not confirm the booking and does not by itself create a payment obligation. The booking becomes binding only after Our team confirms availability and the customer completes any payment or other confirmation step requested by The French Cooking Experience.

The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate contact, participant and billing information. A booking confirmation should be checked promptly and any error reported to The French Cooking Experience without delay.

3. Prices and payment

Consumer prices displayed on the website are in euros and include applicable French taxes unless stated otherwise. The price shown for the selected date and experience at the time of confirmation is the applicable price. Private experiences may be fixed-price packages for the stated maximum number of guests. Any additional fee for a Sunday, French public holiday or special request will be communicated before payment.

Payments are handled through the secure Wix checkout/payment environment and its payment service providers. The French Cooking Experience does not need to receive or store the customer’s full payment-card number in order to process an online booking.

4. Participants, minors and safety

Customers must comply with the age rules, supervision rules and maximum capacity stated for each experience. Adult shared classes may be restricted to participants aged 18 or over. Family and birthday experiences are designed for the stated child age range and require the supervising adult arrangements shown during booking.

The French Cooking Experience uses induction equipment and professional kitchen appliances and may impose reasonable safety instructions during the experience. A participant who does not follow safety instructions, behaves dangerously or is under the influence of alcohol or other substances may be refused participation where necessary to protect the group and staff.

Alcoholic drinks are offered only to adults legally permitted to consume them. Non-alcoholic alternatives are available where stated.

5. Allergies, dietary requirements and accessibility

Allergies, dietary requirements and accessibility needs must be declared truthfully before the experience. Our team will make reasonable efforts to assess whether an experience is suitable, but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment. Severe or life-threatening allergies, including risks arising from traces or cross-contact, cannot be accepted through the standard online booking flow and must be discussed with The French Cooking Experience before any booking is confirmed.

If information necessary for safety is withheld or materially inaccurate, The French Cooking Experience may refuse or stop participation where reasonably necessary.

6. Customer cancellation and rescheduling

Shared and family experiences: cancellation or rescheduling is permitted up to 7 days before the scheduled start time. Requests received less than 7 days before the class are non-refundable and cannot normally be rescheduled.

Private experiences: cancellation or rescheduling is permitted up to 7 days before the scheduled start time. Requests received inside the 7-day period are non-refundable and cannot normally be rescheduled.

Birthday parties and Team Building: the cancellation conditions stated in the confirmation, quotation or proposal apply to the event.

A request submitted through “Find My Booking” or by email does not itself cancel a booking or automatically issue a refund. Our team reviews and processes cancellation, rescheduling and refund requests. A no-show is treated as a cancellation outside the applicable notice period.

7. Cancellation or change by The French Cooking Experience

If The French Cooking Experience must cancel an experience, Our team will offer the customer a reasonable alternative date or a refund of the amount paid for the cancelled service. The French Cooking Experience is not responsible for separate travel, accommodation or other third-party costs unless liability cannot legally be excluded.

8. Right of withdrawal

The experiences sold by The French Cooking Experience are leisure activities supplied for a specific date or period. Under Article L.221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to this type of dated leisure service. The cancellation and rescheduling rules above therefore apply once a dated booking has been concluded, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

9. Photos, content and intellectual property

The French Cooking Experience does not make participation in promotional photography a condition of booking. Any use of an identifiable guest image for marketing purposes, and in particular an identifiable child’s image, requires an appropriate separate consent where required by law.

The website, The French Cooking Experience brand, photographs, text, recipes, course materials and other original content are protected by intellectual-property rights. Personal use by guests is permitted where expressly indicated, but commercial reproduction or reuse requires prior written permission.

10. Complaints and consumer mediation

Any complaint should first be sent in writing to info@thefrenchcookingexperience.com, with the booking reference and relevant details.

French law requires consumer-facing professionals to offer access to an approved consumer-mediation scheme. The French Cooking Experience is finalising the designation of its consumer mediator. The mediator’s name, postal address and website will be added to this page as soon as the designation is completed. This does not restrict any mandatory consumer right or the customer’s right to bring a claim before the competent courts.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. For consumers residing in another country, this choice does not deprive them of any mandatory protection granted by the law that would otherwise apply to them. Any dispute should first be raised with The French Cooking Experience so that an amicable solution can be sought.
