Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how THE FRENCH COOKING EXPERIENCE (“The French Cooking Experience”) collects and uses personal data when you browse the website, contact us, submit a request, make a booking, apply for a role or otherwise interact with us.

1. Data controller

The data controller is THE FRENCH COOKING EXPERIENCE, SARL, SIREN 993 818 970, registered office at 37 D Avenue Louis Breguet, Appartement H44, 78140 Vélizy-Villacoublay, France. The operating atelier is at 27 bis rue de Noailles, 78000 Versailles, France.

Privacy requests may be sent to info@thefrenchcookingexperience.com.

2. Personal data we may collect

3. Why we use personal data and our legal bases

We use personal data to answer enquiries and requests, take steps before entering into a contract, manage bookings and payments, deliver booked experiences, provide customer support, manage cancellations and refunds, issue invoices, keep legally required accounting records, protect the security of the website, and handle recruitment.

Depending on the processing activity, The French Cooking Experience relies on performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps, compliance with legal obligations, legitimate interests such as security and service administration, or consent where the law requires it, including for optional marketing and non-essential cookies.

4. Allergy, dietary and accessibility information

Some allergy, dietary or accessibility information may reveal health-related data. Guests provide this information voluntarily so The French Cooking Experience can assess safety and suitability. Where such information constitutes special-category personal data, The French Cooking Experience processes it only on a lawful basis permitted by applicable data-protection law, including explicit consent where required. The French Cooking Experience limits access to team members who need the information for the relevant experience and does not use it for advertising.

Severe or life-threatening allergies cannot be accepted through the standard online booking flow and should be discussed with The French Cooking Experience before a booking is confirmed.

5. Payments

Online payment and checkout are provided through Wix and the payment providers used within that secure environment. Payment providers may process payment details under their own legal and regulatory obligations. The French Cooking Experience does not need to store the customer’s full payment-card number in order to process a website booking.

6. Cookies, analytics and advertising

The website uses essential cookies required for operation, security and recording privacy choices. On first landing, visitors are asked to choose whether analytics and advertising cookies may also be used. The current consent preference is stored for approximately six months and can be changed using the “Cookie settings” control on the website.

The site uses Google measurement technology for Google Ads. Google Consent Mode is initialized with analytics and advertising storage denied. Optional analytics or advertising consent is granted only after the visitor makes the corresponding choice. Rejecting non-essential cookies does not prevent access to the website.

7. Recipients and service providers

Personal data may be accessed by authorised The French Cooking Experience personnel and by service providers needed to operate the website and business, including Wix for hosting, website functionality, forms, bookings and checkout; payment providers; email/communication providers; and analytics or advertising providers where consent has been given.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where required, The French Cooking Experience and its providers rely on appropriate legal safeguards for international transfers, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards.

8. How long we keep data

The French Cooking Experience keeps personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for any applicable legal limitation or record-keeping period. Booking and customer-service records may be retained for the duration needed to perform the service and manage possible claims. Accounting and invoicing records are retained for the legal period applicable in France, generally 10 years.

Data used for commercial prospecting is generally kept for the duration of the customer relationship and then for up to three years from the end of that relationship, or for prospects up to three years from collection or the last meaningful contact. Recruitment data for an unsuccessful applicant is generally deleted or archived after the recruitment process and may be retained for up to two years where appropriate. Cookie-consent choices are currently stored for approximately six months.

9. Your rights

Subject to the conditions of the GDPR and French data-protection law, you may request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out lawfully.

Requests should be sent to info@thefrenchcookingexperience.com. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

10. Children

Family and birthday experiences may require limited information about child participants, such as name and age, for booking, supervision and safety. The French Cooking Experience requests this information from the responsible adult and limits its use to what is necessary for the experience. Any promotional use of an identifiable child’s photograph requires an appropriate separate consent.

11. Security and updates

The French Cooking Experience uses reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No online system is completely risk-free, but access is limited according to operational need and service providers are selected to support secure processing.

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the website, services or legal requirements. The effective date shown at the top identifies the current version.
